Willow Ladder <3
Black willow finished with Danish oil.

Built for a combination furniture/history class as an attempt to embody certain utopian ideals of mine – simplicity, practicality, transportability, sustainability materials – in an object. The tree it’s built from was a hundred year-old black willow that got blown over by the wind at St. Gaudens National Historic Site up in New Hampshire. The big double-sided step at the bottom is so that two people can stand facing each other and hug/kiss.
